Enrolling Your Child

Like many of the private and charter schools in the area, Brainard enjoys low class sizes in a diverse public school environment. Brainard is now accepting enrollments for the 2016-2017 school year. The Main Office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through June 28th to accept new enrollments. The Main Office will reopen July 21st.

When enrolling your child, please bring verification of residence:

All documentation must be current and identify the parent, guardian, or adult caregiver as the resident. Examples of documents that may be accepted as proof of residence include, but are not limited to any of the following:

  •   Utility service bills (gas, water, electric)

  •   Property Taxes, rental or lease agreement

  •   Official government mail (CalWorks, Social Security)

Also, please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, current immunizations, and, if applicable, report cards or IEP forms. The parent enrolling the child must bring an identification card as well as the child who is enrolling in school.

School staff have the right and obligation to conduct a thorough investigation (due diligence) at the time of enrollment if an inaccurate, suspicious, or false address is suspected in order for the principal to take appropriate action.  In situations where a false address is suspected or may have been used, a school may review publicly available documents, in paper form or through an electronic database, to verify the address of students by a review of property records.

Enrollment/registration is completed only when all enrollment forms have been completed and submitted and the student’s attendance has been recorded in class or every period.
