Annabel Franco, Community Representative

 Anabel Franco

Community Representative

Community Representative Anabel Franco heads up Brainard's Parent Center and our Parent Volunteer Program. Parents are encouraged to become involved in their child's education through volunteering at school, either in the classroom, our library, in the Parent Center by preparing classroom materials and Brainard's monthly newsletter.

Parents are welcome to come to use the desktop computers in the Parent Center every morning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. (or longer if needed). Ms. Franco can assist parents in completing their volunteer application and can refer parents to locations where TB tests, which are required of all volunteers, are taken. Volunteers who spend more than 16 hours a week at school are required to be fingerprinted.

Brainard's Parent Center offers a variety of workshops for parents every month on such topics as emergency preparedness, the Smarter Balanced Assessments, stress management, students with special needs, parents as teachers, and effective parenting.

Parents who want to be involved in Brainard are asked to meet with Principal Kampschroer or Ms. Franco. New ideas and suggestions are always welcomed!
